Toronto brunch runs from a Liberty Village pancake institution to an Egyptian ful spread on Greenwood Avenue. Mildred's has poured maple over wild-blueberry pancakes since 1989, and a few streets east Maha Barsoom plates one of the city's most distinctive weekend tables. These six, ranked, are where to spend a Saturday morning in Toronto when the room is worth the wait.
1.Mildred's Temple Kitchen
Toronto's original destination brunch; book the Liberty Village room for Mrs Biederhof's wild-blueberry buttermilk pancakes.
Mildred's Temple Kitchen at 85 Hanna Avenue is the city's original sit-down brunch, on Queen Street West since 1989 before moving to Liberty Village. Mrs Biederhof's blueberry buttermilk pancakes, with wild-blueberry compote and Lanark County maple, run about $17.
Brunch mains sit in the $16.50 to $23.50 range, the room is bright and industrial, and the duck-and-waffles is the savoury order. Reserve the weekend table rather than walk up, especially after a Liberty Village morning.
2.Maha's
Maha Barsoom's Egyptian brunch is Toronto's most distinctive weekend table; book the Cairo Classic on Greenwood Avenue.
Maha's at 226 Greenwood Avenue runs an Egyptian brunch from chef-owner Maha Barsoom and is listed in the Michelin Guide Toronto. The Cairo Classic, a spread of fava-bean ful, tomato-feta salata, falafel and bread, runs about $18 to $22.
The room is small and warm, the line forms early on a weekend, and the cardamom coffee is the drink to order. This is the brunch to book when you want something other than eggs and pancakes.
3.White Lily Diner
A Riverside diner with a Bib Gourmand and house-smoked everything; book the steak and eggs on a weekend.
White Lily Diner at 678 Queen Street East holds a Michelin Bib Gourmand and runs an all-day brunch built on house-smoked bacon, in-house bread and a farm in Uxbridge. The steak and eggs and the full English are the dishes to order.
Plates run about $16 to $26, the room is a modern diner, and chef Ben Denham, formerly of Grand Electric, mills and smokes in house. Come early on a weekend, as the counter and tables fill fast in Riverside.
4.Cafe Boulud
Daniel Boulud's Yorkville brasserie runs the city's most polished weekend brunch; book the Four Seasons room for Sunday.
Cafe Boulud sits inside the Four Seasons at 60 Yorkville Avenue and runs a French-brasserie weekend brunch from Daniel Boulud's group, Saturday and Sunday from 11:30. Expect brasserie classics, a strong pastry programme and mains around $30 to $45.
This is the upscale Toronto brunch, with proper service and a Yorkville room. Reserve the weekend table well ahead, and order the eggs and the viennoiserie when you want the polished version of a Sunday.
5.Cluny Bistro & Boulangerie
A Distillery District French bistro with its own boulangerie; book the cobblestone room for weekend pastries and brunch.
Cluny Bistro at 35 Tank House Lane runs a French brunch in the Distillery District with an in-house boulangerie turning out viennoiserie all morning. Brunch mains sit around $22 to $34, and the pastry case is the reason to arrive early.
The room is design-forward and the cobblestone setting draws a weekend crowd, so reserve the Saturday or Sunday table. Order the house pastries alongside the eggs for the full Cluny version of brunch.
6.Le Sélect Bistro
A Parisian bistro with one of Canada's deepest cellars; book the weekend table for a wine-led brunch.
Le Sélect Bistro at 432 Wellington Street West runs a classic Parisian brunch with one of the country's largest wine cellars, more than 1,200 bottles. Brunch mains sit around $20 to $32, and the bistro classics carry the meal.
The room is unhurried and the wine list is the draw, so this is the brunch for a long Saturday rather than a quick stack. Reserve from 10:30 on a weekend and let the sommelier point you to a glass.
Not for everyone
Famous, but closed or not brunch
Aunties and Uncles. The beloved Lippincott Street breakfast room has closed, so it is off the live ranking despite still appearing on old lists. For a comparable casual weekend table, Mildred's in Liberty Village is the working alternative.
Lady Marmalade. The East End brunch landmark on Broadview Avenue is closing or closed as of mid-2026 and has dropped off delivery, so do not count on it. Confirm directly before you go, or book Maha's on nearby Greenwood instead.
Rose and Sons. Anthony Rose's Dupont Street diner has permanently closed, along with the adjoining Big Crow, so it is no longer a brunch option. It still surfaces in old roundups; the rooms above are the current destinations.
How to brunch well in Toronto
Toronto brunch spreads across the city: Liberty Village and Wellington West to the west, the Distillery District downtown, and Riverside and Greenwood out east. None is far apart, so a slow morning can move from a French bistro to an Egyptian table without much of a streetcar ride.
Weekend tables fill fast at the destination rooms, so reserve rather than walk up at Mildred's, Cafe Boulud and Le Sélect. For the smaller rooms, Maha's and White Lily Diner take no large bookings, so come at opening on a Saturday to skip the line.
