"Where you dine is a decision. Most people treat it as a default. I built Restaurants for Kings for the people who know the difference."

Background

Fredrik Filipsson is the founding editor of Restaurants for Kings and a business strategist whose work has taken him across Dubai, Miami, Stockholm, London, New York, and most of the world's meaningful dining capitals. His career sits at the intersection of enterprise strategy and hospitality — advising Fortune-scale operators on negotiation, vendor posture, and commercial architecture by day, and cataloguing the rooms where those conversations actually happen by night.

He has personally reviewed more than 500 restaurants across 40+ countries. His focus is less on culinary taxonomy (which cuisine, which technique) and more on occasion: the specific gravity of the room for the specific purpose you brought there. A three-star kitchen with a boardroom table isn't automatically the right call for a proposal. A candlelit two-top isn't automatically wrong for closing a deal. The question is fit — and fit is what Restaurants for Kings was built to catalogue.

Editorial Standards

Every review attributed to Fredrik is based on at least one personal visit in the last 24 months. He pays for his own meals on assessment visits unless the restaurant knowingly extends hospitality, in which case the relationship is disclosed in the review footnote. He does not accept compensation from restaurants, PR agencies, or booking platforms in exchange for coverage.
