Best View Restaurants in Istanbul 2026

Bosphorus & Golden Horn rooms · Istanbul · 7 rooms ranked · Updated June 2026

Compiled by the Restaurants for Kings editorial team · Published June 7, 2026 · Updated June 7, 2026

Eighteen floors. Thirteen. Two continents in one window. Istanbul is the rare city where the view is the food's equal, and the Bosphorus, the Golden Horn and the old-city skyline carry half the city's best rooms. The trouble is that most of them coast on it. The seven below do not. Each cooks at a level that would hold its rank inland, then adds water, minarets or a ferry crossing the strait on top. We ranked the plate first and the panorama second. Two hold Michelin stars. Book the terrace or the window, and time it for the call to prayer at sunset.

1.Mikla

New Anatolian · 18th floor, Beyoğlu · One MICHELIN star

Mehmet Gürs's one-star New Anatolian on the 18th floor, the whole old city in one window and a lamb loin worth the climb. Book it first.

Mikla sits on the 18th floor of The Marmara Pera on Meşrutiyet Caddesi, Beyoğlu. The roof terrace takes in the Golden Horn, the Bosphorus and the historic peninsula's minarets in a single sweep, the best panorama in the city paired with a kitchen that earns it. Chef Mehmet Gürs cooks New Anatolian, Nordic restraint over Turkish and Aegean produce, the lamb loin with charred endive and apple molasses a standout. Take the seven-course tasting over the prix fixe. It holds one Michelin star and a long run on the World's 50 Best lists. This is the city's reference view-and-food table.

Book ahead on the Mikla site; ask for the terrace and time it for sunset.

2.Neolokal

Contemporary Turkish · SALT Galata · One MICHELIN star + Green Star

Maksut Aşkar's one-star room atop SALT Galata, forgotten Anatolian recipes over the Golden Horn and the old city. Book it for a serious dinner.

Neolokal occupies the top floor of SALT Galata on Bankalar Caddesi, Karaköy, the windows looking across the Golden Horn to the historic peninsula and Topkapı. Chef Maksut Aşkar rebuilds forgotten Turkish and Anatolian recipes with organic, regional produce, the menu a study in ingredients and botanicals from across the country. It holds one Michelin star and a Michelin Green Star for sustainability. The view here is the postcard of Istanbul, the domes and minarets stacked along the water. Take the tasting menu, sit by the glass, and come at dusk when the call to prayer rolls across the Horn.

Reserve on the Neolokal site; request a window table at sunset.

3.Ulus 29

Modern Turkish · Ulus, Beşiktaş · MICHELIN Guide

Istanbul's grandest Bosphorus dining room above Ulus Park, the 29 köfte and a bridge-to-bridge view. Book it to impress a client.

Ulus 29 stands on the hill above Ulus Park in Beşiktaş, a terrace and a wall of glass framing the Bosphorus from bridge to bridge. It is the grandest view room in the city, the room Istanbul has used to impress for decades. The cooking is modern Turkish, the 29 köfte of beef and lamb its signature, a spread of mezze the way in. Expect roughly 1,000 to 1,200 lira a head before drinks, more on premium fish, so confirm prices on the day's catch in advance. It is in the Michelin Guide. Book the terrace, order the köfte, and let the strait do the rest.

Book the terrace through the Ulus 29 site; confirm fish prices in advance.

4.Topaz

Ottoman-Mediterranean · Gümüşsuyu · MICHELIN Guide

A seventh-floor Bosphorus panorama over the Dolmabahçe shore, barley risotto and Ottoman-Mediterranean cooking since 2007. Book it for an anniversary.

Topaz sits on the 7th floor of The Artisan MGallery at İnönü Caddesi 50, Gümüşsuyu, the glass facing down the Bosphorus over the Dolmabahçe shore. The kitchen has cooked Ottoman-Mediterranean food with a Turkish accent since 2007, the barley risotto with black trumpet mushroom and salted lemon among its signatures. It has been listed in the MICHELIN Guide Türkiye since the 2023 selection, recommended but never starred. The view is broad and uncluttered, the strait laid out below rather than across. Book a window table, take the tasting menu, and aim for the light going down behind the European shore.

Reserve on the Topaz site; ask for a Bosphorus-facing window.

5.Vogue

Modern European & sushi · Beşiktaş · since 1997

Beşiktaş's veteran sky-table on the 13th floor, 70-plus sushi rolls and Josper grills over a full Bosphorus panorama. Book it for sunset.

Vogue has held the 13th floor of BJK Plaza on Spor Caddesi, Beşiktaş, since 1997, one of the first rooms in the city to put a serious menu on a high floor. The terrace gives a full Bosphorus panorama. The kitchen pairs a list of more than 70 sushi varieties with Josper-grilled mains and Turkey's first molecular cocktail menu, a wide brief it has refined over decades. The Sunday brunch turns into a livelier bar after dark, so the seat you book matters. Ask for a terrace table, order from both the sushi list and the grill, and arrive before the light goes.

Book a terrace table on the Vogue site; come for the sunset seating.

6.360 Istanbul

Modern Turkish meze · Beyoğlu · MICHELIN Guide

Mike Norman's rooftop meze over İstiklal, the best 360-degree panorama in Beyoğlu and a sea bass finished at the table. Book it weeks ahead.

360 Istanbul sits on the roof of the Mısır Apartment at İstiklal Caddesi 163, Beyoğlu, a glass-walled room that turns the full circle: the Bosphorus, the Golden Horn and the old city all in one slow sweep. Chef Mike Norman cooks modern Turkish meze, the spread of cold and hot small plates the way in, a sea bass steamed in aniseed and finished at the table its set piece. Reckon on 800 to 1,500 lira a head. It is in the Michelin Guide and one of the hardest sunset bookings in the city, so reserve weeks out and ask for the sunset seating.

Book weeks ahead on the 360 site; request the sunset seating.

7.Sunset Grill & Bar

Modern Mediterranean & sushi · Ulus · MICHELIN Guide

A hillside terrace over the Bosphorus in Ulus, wood-fired sea bass and a deep cellar since 1994. Book it for a long, slow dinner.

Sunset Grill & Bar is built into the hillside on Yol Sokak in Ulus, the terrace looking out over the Bosphorus and the bridge through the trees. It has cooked modern Mediterranean food with a sushi counter since 1994 and keeps one of the deepest cellars in Turkey. The regulars order without the menu: the wood-fired sea bass, the lamb loin, the chocolate sphere to close. It is in the Michelin Guide. The room is built for a long evening rather than a quick dinner, so take the terrace, open a bottle from the list, and let it run.

Reserve the terrace on the Sunset site; ask the sommelier for a bottle.

Avoid for the view

All Bosphorus, no kitchen

The Ortaköy waterfront tourist terraces under the bridge sell the view at a markup and cook to match. Take the photo, then walk uphill to Ulus 29 or out to Sunset Grill where the food keeps pace with the water.

The hotel sky bars along the strait are for a drink, not a dinner. Go up for a cocktail at sunset, then book a table on this list where the kitchen earns the height. The city's best food is mapped in our Istanbul dining guide.

How to book an Istanbul view table

Ask for the terrace or the window by name. Mikla, 360 Istanbul and Sunset Grill all keep their best seats outside in the warm months, and Ulus 29, Topaz, Vogue and Neolokal hold a window line that goes only to guests who request it. State the seat at the time of booking, not on arrival, and say it is for sunset.

Time it for the light and reserve early. The dusk slots, Thursday through Saturday, sell first, and 360 Istanbul in particular books weeks out for sunset. Mikla and Neolokal run as full fine-dining evenings you build a night around; Vogue, Topaz and Ulus 29 slot into an ordinary dinner while still delivering the strait. Compare the city against the field on our best restaurants with a view worldwide ranking.

Frequently asked

What is the best view restaurant in Istanbul?

Mikla on the 18th floor of The Marmara Pera in Beyoğlu is our top view room for the balance of food and panorama. It holds one Michelin star under chef Mehmet Gürs, cooks New Anatolian, and its roof terrace takes in the Golden Horn, the Bosphorus and the old-city skyline at once. For the postcard view over the historic peninsula, Neolokal atop SALT Galata is the alternative, also one-starred. Mikla wins on the sweep; Neolokal wins on the domes and minarets across the Horn.

Which Istanbul restaurant has the best Bosphorus view?

Ulus 29 above Ulus Park in Beşiktaş has the grandest Bosphorus dining room, a wall of glass framing the strait from bridge to bridge. Sunset Grill & Bar in Ulus looks out from the hillside over the same water, and Vogue on the 13th floor in Beşiktaş gives a full panorama. For the old city and the Golden Horn rather than the strait, Mikla and Neolokal are the two to book. Ask for the terrace or window seat at every one.

How much does dinner with a view cost in Istanbul?

Expect a wide range. Ulus 29 runs roughly 1,000 to 1,200 lira a head before drinks, and 360 Istanbul about 800 to 1,500 lira. Mikla, Neolokal and Topaz are tasting-menu evenings priced above that, and premium fish at any of the Bosphorus rooms pushes the bill up further, so confirm the day's catch prices in advance. The view rooms cost more than their inland equivalents, which is the premium for the water.

Which Istanbul view restaurants have a Michelin star?

Two on this list hold stars: Mikla in Beyoğlu and Neolokal atop SALT Galata each have one Michelin star, and Neolokal also holds a Michelin Green Star for sustainability. Ulus 29, Topaz, Vogue, 360 Istanbul and Sunset Grill & Bar are listed in the Michelin Guide Türkiye without a current star, though Topaz carried one in 2023 and 2024. For a starred kitchen with a genuine view, Mikla and Neolokal are first.

Do you need to book ahead for a view table in Istanbul?

Yes, especially for terrace and window seats at sunset. 360 Istanbul books weeks out for its dusk slots, and Mikla, Neolokal and Ulus 29 fill their best seats a week or two ahead on weekends. Reserve early, state that you want a terrace or window table, and time it for roughly half an hour before sunset. Vogue, Topaz and Sunset Grill are more forgiving midweek if your dates are flexible.
