Bangkok runs brunch on two tracks. There are the all-day Thonglor and Sathorn cafes, where eggs and house-roasted coffee carry a slow Saturday, and there are the grand hotel Sunday spreads, free-flow champagne and Canadian lobster over the racecourse. These six, ranked, cover both ends of a city that takes its weekend table as seriously as its street food.
1.Roast
The room that taught Bangkok modern brunch; poached eggs, banana French toast and house-roasted coffee on the top floor of theCOMMONS.
Roast sits on the upper deck of theCOMMONS at 335 Thong Lo Soi 17, the open-air mall that anchors the Thonglor cafe scene, and it is widely credited with bringing casual all-day dining to Bangkok at a high standard. The kitchen runs poached eggs with corned beef hash and a banana-stuffed French toast, with most plates roughly 300 to 500 baht and the in-house coffee program a draw in its own right.
The room is breezy and bright, open daily from nine in the morning until ten at night, and it fills fast on weekends. It takes walk-ins rather than bookings for small groups, so arrive before eleven on a Saturday to beat the queue, or reserve ahead for a larger table.
2.Fran’s
A glasshouse garden in Sathorn for the Velvet Egg and thick maple bacon; the hardest weekend table in town to book.
Fran’s was opened by restaurateur Atchara Burarak, of iberry fame, with chef Charlie Kader, set in an airy glasshouse wrapped in greenery off Sathorn. The signature Velvet Egg and Bacon, soft scrambled eggs with thick maple-glazed bacon on house sourdough, is the order, with most plates landing around 350 to 600 baht.
The garden room is one of the most sought-after weekend tables in Bangkok, and a second branch has since opened in the Sukhumvit area. Book well ahead through its Line or reservation line for a weekend slot, as walk-up waits can run long.
3.VIU, The St. Regis Bangkok
A free-flow champagne Sunday spread on the twelfth floor, lobster and oysters over the Royal Bangkok Sports Club green.
VIU sits on the twelfth floor of The St. Regis Bangkok beside the Sky Lobby, under executive chef Matteo Fontana, with windows over the Royal Bangkok Sports Club racecourse. The Sunday brunch pairs a buffet with an order-as-much-as-you-like a la carte menu that changes weekly, built on premium oysters, lobster and free-flow champagne, with packages typically from around 3,000 baht and up.
The room is one of the dressed-up Sunday tables in the city, and reservations are essential. Book through the hotel for the weekly service, and ask about the recurring Brunch Club guest-chef editions that VIU runs through the year.
4.Brasserie Europa, Anantara Siam
The Grand Siam Brunch pours Perrier-Jouët with live stations, lobster and caviar; the grand all-out Sunday in town.
The Grand Siam Brunch runs at the Anantara Siam Bangkok on Ratchadamri Road, a colonial-style hotel long known for its weekend spread. The buffet stretches across live cooking stations, premium meats, a seafood bar and a dessert room, with free-flow Perrier-Jouët and live music, and packages running from about 3,200 baht to 7,800 baht for the lobster, champagne and caviar tier.
It is the most lavish Sunday table in this ranking, built for a long midday sitting rather than a quick plate. Reserve ahead through the hotel, and pace the seafood bar before the carving stations to make the most of the spread.
5.Colonnade, The Sukhothai Bangkok
A long-running Sathorn classic for a seafood-led Sunday brunch with live jazz, polished service and timeless quiet luxury.
The Colonnade at The Sukhothai Bangkok on South Sathorn Road runs one of the city’s longest-standing Sunday brunches, a legend among Bangkok hotel spreads. The focus is on high-end seafood and carefully prepared classics rather than sheer volume, served with live jazz in a calm teak-and-silk room, with packages typically from around 2,800 baht depending on the beverage tier.
It is the quietest of the grand Sunday tables, favoured for service and consistency over spectacle, and the hotel has been refreshing the brunch for 2026. Book ahead through The Sukhothai for the weekend sitting, and allow a slow afternoon by the lotus ponds.
6.Toby’s
A sun-drenched Australian cafe down Soi 38 for avocado on sourdough and proper flat whites; a low-key neighbourhood morning.
Toby’s sits down quiet Sukhumvit Soi 38 near Thong Lo, a bright Australian-style cafe of pale wood and white walls that has anchored the area’s brunch crowd for years. The kitchen runs avocado on sourdough, all-day eggs and granola with the same eye for produce you would find in a Sydney room, plates roughly 250 to 450 baht, alongside a serious flat white.
It is open daily from nine in the morning until late afternoon, and a second branch operates over at Noble Play near Ploenchit. It takes walk-ins, so come before eleven on a weekend or settle in on the outdoor terrace for the wait.
Not for everyone
Famous, but not actually brunch
Jay Fai. Supinya Junsuta’s Michelin-starred shophouse on Maha Chai Road is an evening street-food room famous for crab omelette and drunken noodles, not a weekend brunch table, and the wait can run for hours. Save it for a goggle-clad dinner spectacle, not a Saturday morning.
Gaggan Anand. The progressive Indian tasting menu in Sukhumvit is a marathon dinner of two dozen courses, among Asia’s most celebrated, and it does not run a brunch service. For a chef-driven weekend morning instead, Fran’s in Sathorn or VIU at The St. Regis are the destinations.
Erawan Tea Room. The long-loved Thai tea room above the Erawan shrine reworked its hours and concept in recent years, so confirm the current weekend service before planning a brunch around it. For a sure morning table, Roast or Toby’s are the safer calls.
How to brunch well in Bangkok
Bangkok’s brunch splits cleanly by district and by mood. Thonglor and the Sukhumvit sois are the cafe belt, where Roast and Toby’s run all-day eggs and coffee for the expat and creative crowd, while Sathorn holds the glasshouse rooms like Fran’s. The grand hotel Sunday brunches cluster around Ratchadamri and Sathorn, where the St. Regis, Anantara Siam and The Sukhothai pour champagne over a midday marathon. Decide first if you want a quiet plate or a four-hour spread, because the two scenes barely overlap.
For the hotel brunches at VIU, Anantara Siam and The Sukhothai, book ahead and treat it as the whole afternoon; the lobster-and-champagne tiers are worth pacing, and the seafood bars open the meal. For the cafes, Roast and Toby’s take walk-ins but fill by mid-morning on weekends, so arrive before eleven, while Fran’s needs a reservation days out. Traffic across town is the real planning constraint, so pick a district and stay in it rather than crossing the river mid-morning.
