About The Remedy Bar

The Remedy Bar is the social heart of Four Seasons Resort Vail, a fireside lounge just off the lobby at 1 Vail Road in the centre of Vail Village. The resort opened in 2010, and The Remedy pairs an all-day kitchen with a serious cocktail programme under English-born executive chef Simon Purvis, whose two decades of cooking span Bali, Singapore and the American West.

It is the polished hotel-bar option in Vail, a calmer alternative to lively rooms like the Japanese Matsuhisa and the wood-fired Mountain Standard.

The Kitchen

The menu is casual-elegant American: a Wagyu burger, steak frites, a raw bar and slow pan-roasted North Atlantic cod, with mountain touches like Colorado game and mushrooms. Cocktails are the other half of the draw — the Remedy espresso martini and the Fireside Mule run around US$22 — and the winter ‘haute chocolate’ is a signature.

It leans seafood and steakhouse rather than a tasting-menu room; for the village's New American benchmark, Sweet Basil is nearby.

The Room

The lounge is warm and clubby, built around a fireplace with deep seating, low light and a long bar, opening to a terrace in the warmer months. Service is Four Seasons-smooth, which makes it as comfortable for a quiet drinks meeting as for an after-ski cocktail.

Best for impressing clients

The discreet fireside seating and polished service make The Remedy a strong room for impressing clients over drinks in Vail, while the low light and cocktails also suit a relaxed first date.

Not for

Not for budget or casual diners — The Remedy is a polished Four Seasons hotel bar with resort prices, not a quick, low-key local spot.
