The Verdict

Champa Central Hotel is one of the largest guesthouses on Maafushi and the rooftop restaurant — accessed by a single elevator from the lobby — runs to 80 covers across an open-air dining deck and a covered dining room. The setup is the most flexible on the island: the kitchen handles à la carte service, themed BBQ nights (Wednesdays and Saturdays), and group dining for parties of up to 30 in the covered room.

The cooking is broad-spectrum Maldivian-international — the menu spans Maldivian classics (mas huni, garudhiya, the short-eats platter), Sri Lankan rice-and-curry sets, a serious wood-fired pizza program (the kitchen has a single dedicated wood oven on the rooftop), and the Asian fusion that the resort circuit has trained Maldivian kitchens on. The reef-fish biriyani is the kitchen's most-ordered single-plate dish; the BBQ nights (USD 28 per person, all-you-can-eat) are the room's celebration format.

Pricing runs USD 18–30 per person on à la carte; the BBQ nights are USD 28 flat. The rooftop is uncovered (the island gets 70+ degrees of shade across the day), so the covered indoor dining room handles the worst of the midday and the rainier evenings.
