About Trivet

Trivet opened on Snowsfields in Bermondsey in 2019, founded by former Fat Duck head chef Jonny Lake and former Fat Duck head sommelier Isa Bal. It won its first Michelin star in 2021 and a second in 2023, making it one of the few two-star restaurants south of the river.

The cooking is rigorously technical — the Fat Duck lineage shows in fermentation work, precise temperatures, and dishes that reward close attention — but the presentation is calmer than the Heston heritage might suggest. Ingredients lean Mediterranean with frequent Turkish, Catalan, and Alpine references.

The wine list is Bal's statement — exceptionally deep in Sherry, Madeira, and aged European whites, with service-end-friendly glass pricing that rewards exploration. The dining room is small (around 45 seats), well-lit, and one of the quieter Michelin-tier rooms in London.

Best Occasion Fit

Trivet is the south-of-the-river choice for deal dinners with clients based in the City or the South Bank. The Fat Duck pedigree registers with anyone who knows British fine dining, the wine programme gives the evening a structure beyond the food, and the room volume supports the kind of conversation deals actually require.
