The Room
Pacha Nikkei opened in the Galleria in 2023 — a Peruvian-Japanese (Nikkei) dining room dedicated to the proposition that Houston needed a serious Nikkei-tradition fine-dining destination. The dining room is intentionally cinematic: black-and-gold detailing, an open sushi-and-ceviche bar at the front, and an open kitchen at the back.
Eater Houston named Pacha Nikkei in its 2024 best-new-restaurant list. The format reads as international-fine-dining without the Galleria's chain-steakhouse register.
The Food
The tiradito-and-ceviche programme is the menu's calling card. The wood-fired Peruvian-Japanese seafood, the wagyu-and-aji preparations, the lomo saltado, and the seasonal-rotating Nikkei plates handle the menu's wider draws.
Pisco-and-mezcal programme runs deep. Cocktail bench is Nikkei-spice-led: a working pisco sour, a yuzu-and-aji Margarita, an old-fashioned with mezcal. Wine programme is short, weighted toward Riesling and Champagne.
Best Occasion Fit
First Date: The sushi-and-ceviche bar at Pacha Nikkei is one of the Galleria's most-reliable first-date seats. The tiradito programme is the natural opener, the pisco sour is the second move.
Impress Clients: International visitors recognise the Nikkei tradition immediately.
Birthday: Birthdays at Pacha Nikkei are warm, Nikkei-led, Peruvian-Japanese affairs the room handles with the practiced ease of a recent operation.
