About Murjan
Murjan is an independent city-centre restaurant on the Fujairah Corniche, a few minutes' walk from the Ruler's Palace and the city's main beach. The room is one of the handful of non-hotel restaurants on the Corniche to have sustained a proper kitchen rather than a café menu, and it has become the neighbourhood-polished answer to the resort rooms out at Al Aqah.
The dining room is bright and contemporary — wood floors, open kitchen behind a glass partition, white tablecloths on the four-tops. Capacity is about 60 across indoor tables and a small outdoor patio. The cooking is international with an Emirati pivot: pasta, pizza, grill, seafood, and a properly-built Emirati seafood section anchored by the grilled hammour and the camel-meat biryani.
Signatures include the wood-fired pizza, the pesto-crusted lamb rack, and the Emirati mixed grill. Desserts are house-made with a chocolate and pistachio focus; the warm chocolate fondant with pistachio gelato is the room's repeat order.
The bar is alcohol-free (Murjan is licensed-free in the city-centre tradition) with a serious mocktail and fresh-juice programme. Service is family-warm. Reservations are straightforward; weekend groups should book two days ahead.
Why It's Perfect for Birthday
Murjan is the birthday and team-dinner answer for a Fujairah-city stay when the brief is 'international food, bright room, no alcohol'. The four-top round tables are the family-friendly pick; the kitchen will build a birthday cake finish with a day's notice. For a first date at a gentler-than-Al-Aqah price point, the patio two-top is the quiet choice.
