About Social

There is no obvious door. Social hides beneath Tula at the entrance to Old Town Square, down a stair into a low, prohibition-styled room that Yelp named among the Top 50 Speakeasies in the United States in both 2022 and 2023. Owner Ty Fulcher built it around a single line, every cocktail tells a story, and the menu backs it up: 34 seasonally rotating craft cocktails, a sommelier-selected wine list, and a serious cheese-and-charcuterie program. It opens daily at 4pm, takes no reservations, and is one of the best date-night rooms in northern Colorado.

The Kitchen

The bar is the kitchen here. Ty Fulcher's team runs 34 cocktails that turn over with the seasons, split across house standards, a Secret Garden section, throwbacks and dessert drinks. The signatures are precise and a little theatrical: the Pepperontini built on pepperoncini and olive brine, the Marble Rye with Bénédictine, Punt e Mes and Cynar, and the smoky Old Stogie finished with peach-and-Earl-Grey tea. Most cocktails sit between $11.75 and $15.75, with a Luxury Libations list, a $75 Luxe Manhattan among them, for special occasions.

The food is built to drink with. The cheese-and-charcuterie board at $35.75 anchors the menu, with jamón serrano, speck and finocchiona, and there is a full run of social plates from blistered shishito peppers to bangers and mash and steak sliders. A Social Hour, Sunday through Thursday from 4 to 6pm and all evening Tuesday, drops signature cocktails to as little as $7.75 and a charcuterie board to $12.50, which is the value sweet spot. The two consecutive Yelp Top 50 placements are the dated proof that the cocktail program, not the snacks, is what put this room on the national map.

The Room

The space leans hard into its speakeasy premise: a low-lit, modern-industrial cellar with prohibition cues, tucked under Old Town Square. The lighting is dim and flattering, the mood intimate, and because there are no reservations and limited seating, it fills fast on weekend nights, so the trick is to arrive early. The sound level is convivial but talkable, and the dress code is no-rules; smart-casual fits, but nobody is checking. A 3% service fee is added to checks and removed on request or for cash. Get there soon after the 4pm open for a quiet table.

Best for a First Date

Walk in early for a first date, because Social is built for exactly this: a dim, intimate cellar, a long cocktail list that gives you something to talk about, and charcuterie to share so the evening has a rhythm. No reservations means no pressure to commit, and the Social Hour pricing keeps an early date easy on the wallet. Arrive soon after the 4pm open to claim a quiet corner. Not for

Not for large planned parties. Social takes no reservations, opens at 4pm, and the snug room below Old Town Square fills fast on weekend nights.
