The Room
Manfreds opened on Jægersborggade in 2010 — Christian Puglisi's casual sister concept to his Michelin-starred Relae across the street. Fifteen years later Manfreds remains the most-influential natural-wine bistro in Scandinavia and the working argument for what casual-fine-dining can mean inside the Copenhagen New Nordic tradition.
The dining room is intentionally unfussy: a long marble counter facing the open kitchen, banquettes along the western wall, the kind of design Copenhagen wine bars have spent the last decade copying.
The Food
The set sharing menu at 350 DKK runs eight to ten preparations from the seasonal-rotating kitchen — the wood-fire-grilled vegetables, the raw-fish opening, the hand-rolled pasta. The à la carte alternative handles the small-plates programme.
The natural-wine programme is Scandinavia's most-considered. Service is informed and warm — the Relae-group staff have run the floor for over a decade.
Best Occasion Fit
First Date: The bar at Manfreds is one of Nørrebro's most-influential first-date seats. The natural-wine programme is the conversation.
Solo Dining: The bar at Manfreds is one of Copenhagen's better solo-dining seats for the wine-led register.
Birthday: Birthdays at Manfreds are warm, natural-wine, sharing-menu affairs the room handles with fifteen years of practice.
