The Room
El Mercado opened in 2004 inside the Faena Hotel Buenos Aires Puerto Madero — Mariano Cid de la Paz's senior chef-driven Argentine market-cuisine programme. Twenty-one years later the room is one of Buenos Aires's most-considered hotel-dining destinations.
The dining room is intentionally Faena-theatrical: exposed brick, taxidermy, red velvet, the open kitchen visible from every table.
The Food
The kitchen runs an Argentine market-cuisine programme — wood-grilled secondi, the seasonal-rotating produce-driven preparations, the market menu at AR$ 68,000.
Wine programme is Argentine. Cocktails are short and considered.
