The Room
The Salt Line opened in Navy Yard in 2017 — a New England-style seafood dining room dedicated to the proposition that Navy Yard needed a working waterfront-seafood destination. The dining room is intentionally relaxed: a long oyster bar at the front, banquettes along the western wall, a waterfront patio that looks across the Anacostia River.
Eater DC has held The Salt Line on its top-Navy-Yard rankings every year of operation.
The Food
The lobster roll, the daily oyster programme, the New England clam chowder run as the menu's signature. The seasonal-rotating Mid-Atlantic seafood plates and the brunch programme handle the menu's wider draws.
Wine programme tilts toward Champagne and white-Burgundy. Cocktails are classic-American. Service is informed and warm.
