The Room

Burdock & Co opened in 2013 on Main Street in Mt Pleasant. Andrea Carlson — formerly of Bishop's and the original Raincity Grill — built the room around a vegetable-forward menu and a serious local-sourcing programme. The Michelin Green Star (sustainability) arrived in 2024. The dining room seats 36; the booking window is two to three weeks.

Service is small-team and floor-warm. Carlson is in the kitchen every service.

The Food

The five-course tasting at $95 rotates monthly and pulls from BC's small-farm vegetable network. The pairing menu at $70 is the right way in. Wine programme is natural-BC-Burgundy with serious depth.

Best Occasion Fit

First Date: Burdock's small dining room is the Mt Pleasant first-date for the diner who wants the night to register as serious-but-light. The vegetable programme is the conversation.

Solo Dining: The bar at Burdock is one of Mt Pleasant's better solo dining seats.

What Guests Say

Catherine W.Solo Dining

I sit at Burdock's bar once a month, alone. The vegetable programme is the most reliably interesting hour in my Mt Pleasant calendar.
