About Mr Grouper's
Mr Grouper's is the working-island fish-trattoria on Discovery Bay — the central north-shore harbour, with the Providenciales local fishing fleet directly in front of the restaurant — and is the island's most authentic local-fleet seafood institution. The restaurant has run on the same harbour location for over twenty years.
The menu is recognisably Caribbean local-fleet seafood. Signatures include the famous fresh local grouper served grilled or steamed; a Caribbean-conch fritters platter; a slow-cooked Caribbean lobster with West-Indian seasoning; a wood-fired Caribbean snapper baked in salt crust; a Caribbean 'pasta with local fish'; the famous 'rum cake' for the dessert course.
The wine list is short and entirely Caribbean — French Champagne, plus a tightly chosen rum programme.
The dining room and harbour-front terrace together hold sixty covers.
