About Al Pescatore
Trattoria Al Pescatore is the Boldrini-family-run lake-fish dining room on Via Vittorio Emanuele — the medieval lane running parallel to the lake-front, three streets back from the harbour — and is the village's most authentic Garda-fish trattoria. The Boldrini family are themselves Lake Garda fishermen — the patriarch Carlo runs the family's two fishing boats out of the Sirmione harbour and supplies the restaurant directly each morning.
The menu is recognisably Lake Garda. Spaghetti alle vongole with Garda freshwater clams; a hand-rolled tagliatelle with Lake Garda lavarello; a wood-fired Lake Garda pike with rosemary and Garda-lemon confit; a slow-cooked Lake Garda perch with butter and sage; a Lake Garda 'pesce in carpione' (the regional vinegar-cured-fish preparation); the famous 'frittura mista del Garda' — a mixed-fish fry of the daily Boldrini catch.
The wine list is short and almost entirely Lombardian — Lugana from the Sirmione DOC, Bardolino from the eastern Garda shore, Franciacorta sparkling from the Brescia hills — at the most reasonable lake-front prices in the village. Glass pours start at €5.
The terrace is the experience — twelve tables along the lake-front via, a 270-degree view of the medieval Via Vittorio Emanuele and the lake beyond, and a south-facing afternoon-sun aspect. The kitchen runs continuously through the afternoon, which makes Al Pescatore the village's most reliable late-lunch destination. Service is family-run and Lombardian-warm; the Boldrini siblings rotate the floor.
Why It's Perfect for Team Dinner
Al Pescatore is the team-dinner room in Sirmione — the Garda-fish menu is shared-format, the wine list is forgiving on a multi-bottle dinner for eight, and the harbour-front terrace is the canonical Sirmione lunch setting. It is also the easy-first-date answer when both diners want Garda atmosphere without the seven-course pacing of a tasting menu. Book the long banquette table along the lake-front via.
