About Khin's Shack
Khin's Shack is located at the Sihanoukville seafront of Serendipity Beach and specialises in Khmer seafood and fresh scallops cooked on a BBQ grill. The restaurant is one of the beach's most-recommended single seafood destinations, a casual seafront shack with the BBQ grills visible at the front of the property and the Gulf-of-Thailand horizon directly across the dining tables.
The signature dishes are the Khmer-style BBQ seafood. Fresh BBQ Scallops ($8 per portion), the kitchen's most-cited single dish, the local scallops cooked on the open charcoal grill with garlic-butter and a small splash of lime. Grilled Whole Fish ($12-18 per fish, by selection from the day's catch). Khmer Pepper Crab ($16), the Kampot-pepper preparation. Khmer Curry with Fresh Seafood ($10). A meal of grilled scallops, fish, and a Khmer side for two runs $30-50.
The room is the seaside set-piece. The restaurant is built as a casual beach shack with a covered indoor section and open-air seating directly on the sand at the beach edge, the dining tables are within five metres of the water at high tide, with continuous views over the Gulf of Thailand. Sunset hour (5:30-6:30pm depending on season) is the prime dining time. Walk-ins always work outside high-season weekend peaks; the queue at peak runs twenty minutes for the prime sand-edge tables.
Cards are accepted; the staff speak Khmer and basic English. The restaurant runs lunch-and-dinner with continuous service from 11am to 11pm. The post-dinner walk along Serendipity Beach is the proper close to the evening, the beach is genuinely beautiful at sunset and the lit-bar-and-cafe scene runs until 1am during the high tourist season.

First dates, the seafront BBQ-shack setting at sunset is one of Cambodia's most romantic dinner backdrops. Birthdays, the multi-course Khmer-seafood format and the beach setting are properly celebratory. Team dinners with visiting colleagues, the casual format absorbs four to ten without complaint.
