The Room
Maximilien has operated from a balcony perch in Pike Place Market since 1979 — a small French dining room hidden in the warren of Pike Place's lower levels, with floor-to-ceiling windows facing Elliott Bay and the Olympic Mountains beyond. The dining room is one of Seattle's most-cinematic settings.
The Seattle Times has held Maximilien on its top-French-restaurant rankings for over four decades. The Eater Seattle list has held the room as one of the city's most-enduring waterfront dining destinations. The view alone justifies the booking; the kitchen has earned its share of attention separately.
The Food
The menu runs French-bistro-classic. Escargots, country-style pâté, steak frites, the daily fish preparations — every dish in the canon executed at fine-dining technique. The daily three-course prix-fixe at $55 is the order for a first visit.
Wine programme runs French. Cocktails are classic-French. Service is brigade-French in rhythm.
