Best Restaurants Open Monday in Salt Lake City 2026

Open Monday · Salt Lake City · 6 rooms confirmed · Updated June 2026

Compiled by the Restaurants for Kings editorial team · Published June 20, 2026 · Updated June 20, 2026

Monday is the quiet night on the Salt Lake grid. Table X and Valter's Osteria lock their doors after the weekend, and a chunk of the chef-driven map rests. The rooms below trade Monday anyway, from Takashi's downtown sushi bar to Log Haven's mansion in Millcreek Canyon and the Hotel Monaco grandeur of Bambara.

Takashi

Japanese · 18 W Market Street, Downtown · $$$ · Open Monday 11:30–14:00, 17:30–22:00

Salt Lake's defining sushi bar, open Monday for lunch and dinner. Sit at the counter for Takashi Gibo's nigiri.

Takashi on West Market Street is the sushi room that set the bar for the city, where chef Takashi Gibo works a downtown counter that fills most nights. The hamachi with jalapeno, the Aburi salmon and the daily nigiri selection are the orders regulars repeat, and the izakaya small plates carry the back half of the menu.

It serves Monday lunch from 11:30am and dinner from 5:30pm to 10:00pm, a full day, which makes it the easy marquee choice at the start of the week. The counter is the seat to ask for, especially for one or two diners.

Book ahead for a table; the bar takes a fair share of walk-ins early on a Monday.

Urban Hill

New American · 510 S 300 W, Granary District · $$$$ · Open Monday 17:00–21:30

The Granary District's wood-fire fine-dining room, open Monday from 5pm. Book it for the city's most ambitious Monday dinner.

Urban Hill in the Granary District is Salt Lake's most ambitious modern room, a high-ceilinged space built around a wood-fired hearth in a converted warehouse. The live-fire proteins, the house charcuterie and the seasonal vegetable plates anchor a menu that changes with the market.

It serves Monday dinner from 5:00pm to 9:30pm, covering the full evening when most rooms of its rank rest. The bar program is among the best in the city and worth arriving early for.

It is the dress-up Monday option here, so reserve ahead and lean into the occasion.

The Copper Onion

New American · 111 E Broadway, Downtown · $$$ · Open Monday 11:30–15:00, 17:00–22:00

Ryan Lowder's downtown bistro, open Monday lunch through late. Go for the house ricotta dumplings and a full bar.

The Copper Onion on Broadway is Ryan Lowder's downtown bistro and one of the most reliable tables in Salt Lake, a bustling room of marble tables and an open kitchen. The ricotta dumplings, the burger and the daily blue-plate specials are the dishes that built its following.

It runs Monday from 11:30am to 3:00pm and again 5:00pm to 10:00pm, the longest Monday hours of this group, so it covers a late lunch or a casual Monday dinner equally well.

Walk-ins have a fair shot at the bar on a Monday, making it the low-stress pick when you have not booked.

Log Haven

New American · 6451 E Millcreek Canyon Road, Millcreek Canyon · $$$$ · Open Monday 17:00–21:00

The mountain mansion up Millcreek Canyon, open Monday for dinner by a waterfall. Drive up for an occasion.

Log Haven sits four miles up Millcreek Canyon in a 1920s log mansion surrounded by waterfalls and pines, the closest thing Salt Lake has to a destination-dining drive. The seasonal New American menu leans on game, trout and foraged produce, and the wine list is deep.

It serves Monday dinner from 5:00pm to 9:00pm, so the canyon room is a genuine Monday option when the city center quiets down. Sunset tables on the deck are the ones to request in summer.

It is a special-occasion room, so reserve ahead and allow time for the drive up the canyon.

Oquirrh

New American · 368 E 100 S, Central City · $$$ · Open Monday dinner from 16:30

The chef-owned market-menu room near downtown, open Monday from 4:30pm. Small, personal and worth the booking.

Oquirrh near downtown is a chef-owned room from Andrew Fuller and Angela Brown that cooks a short, daily-changing menu off whatever the market offers. The handmade pastas, the whole-roasted vegetables and the rotating proteins make it one of the most personal kitchens in the city.

It opens for Monday dinner from 4:30pm, a rare early-week service for a room this small, which makes it a strong Monday booking when the bigger names rest.

The dining room is compact, so book ahead; this is not a reliable walk-in on any night.

Bambara

New American · 202 S Main Street (Hotel Monaco), Downtown · $$$ · Open Monday 07:00–14:00, 17:00–21:00

The grand hotel dining room inside Hotel Monaco, open Monday morning to night. The all-day downtown classic.

Bambara occupies a former bank hall inside the Kimpton Hotel Monaco on Main Street, a high-ceilinged downtown room that has anchored the city's hotel dining for years. The seasonal American menu, the strong breakfast and the bar make it a true all-day address.

It serves Monday from 7:00am to 2:00pm and again 5:00pm to 9:00pm, covering breakfast, lunch and dinner, the widest Monday coverage on this list.

It is the easiest grand-room booking on a Monday and a dependable choice for a working breakfast or an early dinner downtown.

Salt Lake City rooms that close on Monday

Valter's Osteria. Valter Nassi's theatrical Italian room on West Broadway is closed Sunday and Monday, serving Tuesday to Saturday from 5:00pm. Book it later in the week, or take Takashi or Bambara for a Monday dinner downtown.

Table X. The acclaimed tasting-menu room in Millcreek is dark Monday and Tuesday, trading Wednesday to Saturday from 5:00pm. Plan it for midweek, or go to Urban Hill or Oquirrh for a Monday at a comparable level.

How to dine out on a Monday in Salt Lake City

The Salt Lake Monday problem is the familiar one: the chef-driven and tasting-menu rooms, Table X and Valter's Osteria above all, take the night off, while the downtown bistros, the sushi bar and the hotel rooms mostly trade through. The workaround is to lean into the categories that stay open. Takashi covers sushi, Urban Hill and Log Haven handle the dress-up dinner, the Copper Onion and Bambara carry the all-day casual end, and Oquirrh keeps a chef's room on the table.

Reservations are easiest at the Copper Onion and Bambara, while Urban Hill and Log Haven want a few days of notice even on a Monday. For a fuller view of where to eat across the week, start with our Salt Lake City dining guide and the solo-dining and impress-clients occasion lists below.
