The terrace seating runs along the riverbank with an uninterrupted view of the flow, and at dusk, when the ghats light up and the aarti prayers begin downstream, the Ganges provides a backdrop that no interior designer could engineer.
The menu is luxuriously vegetarian in a city where vegetarian cooking is taken as seriously as French cuisine is in Lyon. The kitchen sources directly from local farms in the Garhwal hills. The seven-course tasting option proceeds through fresh curd with raw honey from Tehri bees, into a stone-pot dal that has been cooking since morning, and concludes with a Jalebi preparation that collapses the dessert course and the restaurant's name into a single gesture.
The service is gentle and informed — staff understand the ingredients and explain them with genuine enthusiasm rather than script recitation. The mocktail programme, built on Himalayan herbs, mountain honey, and river-cooled waters, is legitimately excellent.
