About Muga

Muga is the finest restaurant in Poznan and one of the most significant addresses in Polish fine dining. Chef Artur Skotarczyk's kitchen holds one Michelin star — one of a small number in Poland — and has been cited as a model of how classical French technique can be applied to the exceptional seasonal produce of the Wielkopolska region with genuine intelligence and restraint.

The tasting menu changes with the seasons, always built around the best available ingredients from Skotarczyk's network of Polish producers and foragers. Freshwater fish from the lakes of Greater Poland, heritage pork and game from local farms, wild mushrooms and forest herbs from the surrounding countryside — all prepared with the rigour of French classical cooking but expressed with a distinctly Polish identity. The menus typically run five to seven courses and take two to three hours to complete.

The room is elegant and understated — plush, formal service in surroundings that are contemporary without being cold. The location on the Old Market Square means that Muga occupies one of the most historically significant addresses in Poland, looking out over a medieval square that has changed little in five centuries. A private dining room is available for groups of up to eight.

The wine list is exceptional for Poland, with strong French representation alongside a thoughtfully curated selection of Polish, Austrian, and Italian bottles. The sommelier team has genuine expertise and presents pairings with the confidence of a much larger institution. Muga has been recommended by the Michelin Guide since 2023 and has received continuous recognition from Poland's leading food media.

Best Occasion Fit

For impressing clients and closing deals, Muga offers the most prestigious table in Poznan — a Michelin star on the Old Market Square, a kitchen that signals serious culinary taste, and a private dining room that accommodates confidential business conversation. For significant birthday celebrations, the tasting menu format transforms the evening into a curated experience rather than a restaurant meal.
