About Amazónico

Amazónico opened in 2024 at Place du Casino, the most photographed address in Monaco, the latest outpost of a brand founded in Madrid in 2016 by restaurateurs Sandro Silva and Marta Seco and since taken to London and Dubai. The Monaco edition is the full concept rather than a scaled-down version, installed a few steps from the Monte Carlo casino.

The cooking is Latin American with Asian accents, led by chef Vitelio Reyes — ceviches, sushi, grilled fish and pit-smoked meats built for a long, lively dinner. The draw is as much the room as the plate: a rainforest interior by designer Lázaro Rosa-Violán and live music that builds as the evening runs toward midnight.

The Kitchen

Reyes's signature is tuna laqueado — aged akami bluefin in a ponzu sauce with tamarillo, crisp dehydrated pineapple and Amazonian cashews — alongside a version of pastel de choclo, the savoury corn pie, topped with red-mullet rillettes and mild caviar. The whole grilled sea bass and the pit-smoked meats from the open fire are the table centrepieces.

It is à la carte rather than a tasting menu: ceviches and starters run roughly €18 to €38 and grilled mains €40 to €90, with the whole sea bass priced by weight. Signature cocktails with an Amazonian slant round out a bill that climbs quickly at this address.

The Room

The interior is the headline — Lázaro Rosa-Violán's immersive rainforest, walls of tropical foliage and butterfly motifs, a ceiling dense with leaves and lighting that shifts from warm gold to something more vivid as service goes on. A live band plays jazz, bossa nova and Cuban rhythms on the terrace through prime evening hours.

The Place du Casino setting puts it at the centre of Monte Carlo's glamour circuit, open late into the night. It is a scene as much as a restaurant, so book ahead for a prime evening table and expect energy rather than hush.

Best for a Birthday

The theatre, the late hours and the share-the-table cooking make Amazónico a lively birthday or celebratory team dinner in Monaco. The address and the spectacle also make it a confident table to close a deal over a long, animated evening.

Not for

Not for diners wanting a quiet, intimate dinner or restrained fine dining — Amazónico is a loud, theatrical, late-running room built for a night out, not a hushed meal.
