About Casa Fuego

Casa Fuego opened in autumn 2020 a short walk from Mirazur, on the same coastal road, and it is Mauro Colagreco's homage to the Argentine grill cooking he grew up with. The building is intentionally modest — a former village taverna with a covered terrace and an open kitchen built around an Argentine asado grill — and the format is intentionally affordable. Starters around fifteen euros, pasta in the low twenties, grilled meats and seafood at honest prices.

The cooking is built around the wood fire. Whole grilled fish from the Menton harbour. Slow-smoked beef short rib. Argentine chorizo with chimichurri. House-made empanadas with criolla salsa. Pasta — all rolled in-house with organic flour from Colagreco's adjacent Mitron Bakery — anchors the non-grill side of the menu, and the cooking technique on every plate is recognisably Mirazur-influenced even at a quarter of the price.

The room — long communal tables, exposed brick walls, an open kitchen that diners can sit at directly — runs with intentional informality. The wine list is Argentine-leaning with a serious Malbec section, but the by-the-glass programme handles Provence rosé and natural-wine France with equal generosity. Saturday lunch features a special parrilla service — a single sharing-style menu of multiple grilled cuts, served family-style — that has become one of the more sought-after weekend bookings on the Riviera.

Casa Fuego works because it lets Colagreco do something he plainly enjoys — informal Argentine cooking — at a price register the rest of Menton can actually afford twice a week. Locals book it for birthdays, post-Mirazur unwinds, and casual weeknight dinners; visitors book it as the second-best Colagreco experience in town and come away convinced it might be the better value.

Why It's Perfect for Team Dinner

Casa Fuego is the team dinner for a Riviera offsite. The communal table seats twelve comfortably, the parrilla menu handles a long shared meal without any one person doing the ordering, and the wine list manages a serious table without breaking the budget. For a casual celebration that wants Colagreco's name on it without Mirazur's price, this is the most considered option in Menton.
