The Verdict

The Steak House has won the Saudi Excellence Tourism Award (SETA) multiple times — the most formal hospitality distinction the kingdom awards — on the strength of a cooking programme that treats the steakhouse format as an opportunity for technical seriousness rather than crowd-pleasing scale. The restaurant operates outside the Haram hotel cluster, in the Al Rawdah district east of the Masjid, and has built its reputation primarily on Medina locals and returning Saudi travellers rather than the pilgrim walk-in market.

The kitchen sources prime cuts from Australian, American and Wagyu programmes and prepares them across multiple techniques: charcoal grill, cast-iron, sous-vide finished with a high-sear, and a Himalayan salt-block preparation for thinner cuts. Signature dishes include the 45-day dry-aged ribeye with red wine demi-glace (the kitchen has developed a non-alcoholic reduction that functions structurally like the original); tomahawk shared for two; the tableside Wagyu tasting; and a lamb chop presentation with preserved lemon and za'atar that references the Hijazi cooking context.

The dining room is warm and restrained — deep walnut panelling, green leather banquettes, large but well-spaced tables. Service is formal without being stiff, and the wine list — here a mocktail list — runs to forty-five non-alcoholic pairings developed specifically for the steakhouse menu. For a business dinner in Medina, there is no more reliable room in the city.

Why It Works for Close a Deal

The Steak House is the default Close a Deal venue in Medina. The SETA recognition gives the booking external credibility, the steakhouse format is universally legible to Saudi, Gulf and international counterparts, and the location outside the Haram cluster makes it suitable for meetings that extend later than the evening prayer time would permit at hotel-based venues.
