About TATEL Madrid

TATEL opened on the Paseo de la Castellana in 2014 and quickly became Madrid's see-and-be-seen address, helped by celebrity backers Rafael Nadal, Pau Gasol and Enrique Iglesias. Executive chef Juan Antonio Medina runs a kitchen of Spanish classics given a creative finish, in a room with a stage and live music every night of the year.

It has since grown into a group, with rooms in Ibiza, Valencia, Marbella, Dubai, Riyadh and Beverly Hills, but the Castellana flagship is where the formula started. This is Spanish dining as a night out — dinner, cocktails and a show under one roof.

The Kitchen

The menu reworks Spanish standards. The signatures include anchovies fried inside-out and finished at the table, a truffle omelette, squid in its ink, candied sea bass, and the much-cited San Roman veal escalope. The cooking is well-executed comfort-luxury rather than avant-garde — familiar dishes done with polish for a dressed-up crowd.

Pricing is steep and some diners say so: expect around €45 to €60 per person and up, with dishes priced à la carte. You are paying for the room and the scene as much as the plate.

The Room

The dining room is dark, glamorous and built around a stage, with live music every night and a bar that keeps the energy up. It is loud and social by design — a place to dress up, be seen, and make an evening of it rather than a quiet dinner.

The Castellana address keeps it central to Madrid's business and hotel district, and booking ahead is essential for prime evenings and weekends. Come dressed for the occasion.

Best for Impressing Clients

The glamour, the central address and the show make TATEL a natural pick to impress clients or host a team dinner in Madrid. The live music and buzz also turn a birthday into a proper night out.

Not for

Not for diners after a quiet, intimate meal, cutting-edge cooking or low prices — TATEL is a loud, glamorous see-and-be-seen room with live music, where the scene drives the bill.
