About Brigadiers
Brigadiers opened in 2018 inside the Bloomberg Arcade adjacent to the Bloomberg Centre in the City. The concept is an Indian army officers' mess hall: leather armchairs, a pool room, cricket matches on screens in the bar, a cigar lounge, and a whisky list deep enough to rival any dedicated whisky bar in London. It is run by JKS Restaurants, the family group behind Gymkhana, Trishna, Bao, and Hoppers.
The kitchen is anchored by the charcoal grills that face the main dining room. The menu leans toward kebabs, grilled meats, biryanis served in the traditional sealed dum format, and a short curry section. The bar runs a parallel programme of Indian-influenced cocktails and the aforementioned whisky list, which includes a surprising depth of Indian single malts alongside the Scottish majors.
The City location means the clientele skews financial-services after work; the atmosphere runs louder than most of the Indian restaurants on this list by design. Private dining rooms for up to 50 are available and book heavily for team dinners from the nearby offices.
Best Occasion Fit
Brigadiers is the City team-dinner default. The officers' mess concept gives groups something to do beyond sit at the table — pool, cricket, the bar — and the charcoal-grill-heavy menu suits shared ordering for larger groups. The whisky list is a genuine draw for deal dinners where the evening extends past dessert.
