About Bombay Bustle

Bombay Bustle opened on Maddox Street in 2017 as the more casual sister restaurant to Jamavar from the Leela hotel group. The concept — Mumbai's suburban railway network — translates into a dining room styled after a colonial-era train carriage: dark wood panelling, leather banquettes, brass fittings, and an open kitchen at the far end.

The menu is structured around Mumbai's street-food culture and the tiffin-box delivery tradition, with a strong small-plates section, a biryani programme served in the traditional sealed dum style, and a distinct bar menu of Bombay-inspired cocktails. Prices sit firmly below Jamavar's, which makes the restaurant a sensible choice for larger team dinners where a Michelin-tier spend isn't appropriate.

The downstairs bar runs independently until late and is one of the better Indian-accented cocktail programmes in the West End. Service runs faster and looser than the Mount Street sibling — more neighbourhood-Mumbai than Mayfair-formal.

Best Occasion Fit

Bombay Bustle is a team-dinner choice when you want a Mayfair address without the Jamavar price point. The sharing-plate format suits groups, the theatre of the interior gives the evening personality, and the bar programme keeps the evening going after dinner finishes. Works equally well for a birthday dinner that benefits from atmosphere over formality.
