The pizza itself is New York in orientation but executed with the obsessive attention that the Southern food scene has brought to imported traditions. The crust finds the right balance between char and chew, the sauce is bright and acidic, and the toppings are not piled to conceal mediocre foundations. House-made pasta extends the kitchen's range beyond the pie oven — fresh pasta that shares the same care with ingredient selection and technique. The craft cocktail bar is taken seriously, which is the right call: a pizza restaurant with a good cocktail program creates entirely different social dynamics than one with beer and soda alone.
