About Le Val d'Auge

Le Val d'Auge has occupied a freestanding villa at 805 Avenue du Général de Gaulle in Bondues — the northern suburb that anchors the EuraTechnologies industrial belt — for over three decades. The Michelin star has been a constant presence for most of that time; chef Christophe Hagnerelle has run the kitchen since the early 2000s.

The cooking is Modern French of the classical school — technical, ingredient-driven, with a strong Norman influence reflected in the restaurant's name (the Val d'Auge is the lush green valley of Calvados country). Expect butter, cream, apples, calvados in cooking, line-caught fish from Boulogne-sur-Mer, and the full classical sauce vocabulary handled with confidence.

The format is set menus (a four-course at €115 and a tasting at €155 in the recent rotation) plus a focused à la carte. The lunch business set at €68 is among the best-value Michelin lunches in northern France. The wine programme is conservative and very deep — heavy Bordeaux representation across multiple vintages, strong Burgundy white, classic Loire.

The villa sits in its own grounds with private parking — practical for the local executive lunch crowd, who arrive between twelve-fifteen and twelve-thirty for a two-hour service that lets them be back at their desks by three. The room closes Sunday evening, Monday and Tuesday.

Why It's Perfect for Close a Deal

Le Val d'Auge is the local executive lunch — the room where the Lille metropolitan area's family-business owners and biotech founders sign letters of intent. Bondues sits in the northern industrial belt, ten minutes by taxi from EuraTechnologies, which is the practical reason the room books its weekday lunches three weeks out. The dining room has the slightly hushed, slightly formal quality of a long-established business address; the staff know how to seat a working table away from the door. Order the lunch tasting and the Sancerre.
