Krua Phranang at Rayavadee

Krua Phranang is Rayavadee's dedicated Thai-cuisine room — separate from The Grotto, sitting at the northern end of Phra Nang Beach in a series of traditional wooden salas with full views of the bay and the limestone karsts offshore. The approach is via a torch-lit path along the beach itself, which is part of the restaurant's choreography.

The menu is Southern Thai — turmeric-heavy, coconut-based, and focused on Andaman seafood. The signature dishes include the massaman curry with a slow-braised Wagyu shank, the tom kha with river prawns, a chu chee curry with sea bass, and a Southern-Thai yellow-curry crab preparation that the resort imports from a family kitchen in Phuket. Desserts are mango sticky rice, coconut panna cotta, and a durian soufflé that is unexpectedly good.

The room holds about twenty tables, all with open sides to the beach. The cooking is less theatrical than The Grotto — this is a restaurant where the food does more work than the view, even though the view is outstanding. Service is Rayavadee-standard: quiet, informed, attentive to every request.
