Pleins d'Herbes has occupied the same white-washed cottage above Sakanoshita cove for over two decades, and the chef has spent that time quietly turning it into Kamakura's most reliable romance table. The window seats look straight out over Yuigahama beach. On a clear evening, Enoshima lighthouse pulses in the distance while your amuse-bouche arrives.

The cooking is technical, unshowy French with a Japanese larder — Miyazaki beef with a pan-sauce reduction, Sagami Bay anago meunière, a cheese course that the chef walks to your table himself. Portions are measured; you should plan on four courses minimum.

The dining room seats just twenty-two. Ask for a window two-top when you reserve, and mention if the dinner is for an engagement — the kitchen has quietly engineered dessert proposals for years and knows how to stay out of your way until the moment arrives.

Why it fits Proposal

Proposal belongs here because everything aligns: ocean view, candlelight, a room small enough to feel private but not so small that the waitstaff hover. The pacing of the menu gives you an obvious moment — between main and dessert — to ask the question.
