About Tuscany Courtyard
Tuscany Courtyard opened in 2012 when three Pakistani founders — Sikander Bakhtiar, Aamir Rashid, and Khurram Khan — returned from Tuscany with the determination to bring authentic wood-fired Italian cooking to Islamabad. The restaurant occupies a courtyard-format building inside Kohsar Market in F-6/3, with the dining room organised around a central fountain-and-greenery courtyard, the rooftop terrace overlooking the Margalla Hills, and the indoor Italian-villa-style dining room with large windows and warm lighting.
The signature dishes are the wood-fired pizzas (the Margherita, the Quattro Formaggi, the Diavola with spicy salami) and the hand-rolled pastas (the lamb ragù pappardelle, the seafood linguine, the ricotta-and-spinach ravioli). The kitchen sources buffalo mozzarella, San Marzano tomatoes, and 00 flour from Italian importers. A two-course dinner for two with a Margherita, a pasta, a tiramisu, and Italian sodas runs PKR 6,500-9,000 ($25-35).
The room is the date-night anchor. The courtyard with the central fountain and the climbing greenery delivers the stage for the Friday-Saturday evening dining; the rooftop opens for the cooler October-March months with the Margalla Hills as the visible backdrop. Capacity is around eighty across the courtyard, the indoor room, and the rooftop.
Reservations matter on Friday-Saturday evenings; one week ahead is enough for the courtyard and rooftop tables. The restaurant accepts cards, the staff speak strong English, and the post-dinner walk through the Kohsar Market boutiques or up to the Daman-e-Koh hilltop is the conventional close to the evening.
Best Occasion Fit
As the city's reference Italian, this is the default first-date answer in Islamabad — the courtyard fountain, the wood-fired pizzas, and the Margalla view are properly romantic without being over-the-top. For birthdays, the rooftop tables seat groups of six-to-eight comfortably, and the kitchen accommodates cake-cutting. For impressing visiting international clients, the Italian-villa setting flatters the guest in a culturally legible way without going stiff.
