About Etxeko Ibiza

Etxeko Ibiza is the island project of Martín Berasategui, the most Michelin-starred chef in Spain, set inside BLESS Hotel Ibiza on the quieter east coast near Es Canar. The name — Basque for ‘home’ — signals the kitchen's roots, and the restaurant earned one Michelin star in the 2022 Spain selection, a rare distinction for the island's resort dining.

Day to day the kitchen is led by chef Paco Budía, from Córdoba, who began as a stage at Berasategui's Barcelona restaurant Lasarte and was chosen to run this room. The format fuses Basque haute cuisine with Ibizan produce. For the island's other serious tables, compare La Gaia and Es Tragón.

The Kitchen

The menu runs through Berasategui signatures rebuilt with local ingredients. The famous opener is his ham-and-truffle liquid omelette — a crisp one-bite parcel with a molten truffled centre — alongside the caramelised smoked-eel, foie gras and green-apple mille-feuille he first created in 1995, and a tempura hake with amontillado and caviar mayonnaise. The full tasting runs to around fifteen courses.

It is a set tasting menu in the island's top price tier, starting around €165 before wine, with a pairing built from Spanish and Basque cellars. Book the menu rather than picking around it — the sequence is the point.

The Room

Set within BLESS Hotel Ibiza, the room is polished and resort-formal, with terrace air, well-spaced tables and the drilled, attentive service of a luxury hotel. It is built for an occasion rather than a casual drop-in, and the pacing assumes a full evening. Reserve well ahead in the summer season, when the island fills.

Best for an anniversary or proposal

Etxeko is Ibiza's choice for an anniversary or a proposal — a one-star tasting menu and resort polish matter more here than a sea-view beach club. For other island tables, see Nobu Ibiza Bay or browse the fine-dining guide and the Spanish picks.

Not for

Not for budget travellers, walk-ins or families wanting a casual table — this is a set, one-star tasting menu from around €165, formal and booked well ahead.
