About V Café
V Café is an all-day dining cafe owned by an American-Vietnamese couple — the kitchen serves homemade Vietnamese dishes alongside Western food like steaks, pizza, burgers, roast pork, tacos, soups and lemon meringue. Vegetarian dishes are also available. The cafe has live music, free Wi-Fi and a pool table, and has built its reputation among Da Lat-resident expats and visiting Western travellers as the city's reference all-day cafe destination.
The menu is broad. Vietnamese section — pho ($6), banh mi ($4), Vietnamese-style grilled pork with rice ($8), Da Lat vegetable hot pot ($12). American-Western section — pizza ($10-15), burgers ($9-13), pasta ($10-14), Western breakfast plates ($6-10), Mexican tacos ($8-12). The lemon meringue pie ($5) is the kitchen's signature dessert — the American-style version using local Da Lat lemons and Vietnamese-style egg-white meringue.
The cafe runs throughout the day — breakfast service from 7am, lunch from 11am, dinner from 5pm to 10pm. Live music sets are typically Wednesday-Saturday evenings from 7-9pm; the schedule is published weekly on the cafe's social media. Walk-ins always work outside weekend dinner peaks; cards are accepted; the staff speak Vietnamese and English.
The room is comfortable cafe-style. Forty seats across two floors with bay windows facing Bui Thi Xuan Street, decorative American-Vietnamese fusion architectural touches, low pendant lighting, and a small pool table at the back. The atmosphere is relaxed-traveller-cafe rather than tourist-restaurant — Da Lat-resident expats, English-language teachers, and Western backpacker travellers populate the dining room throughout the day.
