Level 2 Steakhouse

OpenTable Diners Choice — Best Overall Steakhouse / Modern American $$$$ Downtown — Hilton Convention Center, Branson

Inside the Hilton Branson Convention Center — Kansas City Hereford prime, dry-aged in-house, finished in a 1,600° infrared oven. The downtown power table that closes more deals than any boardroom.

The Restaurant

Level 2 Steakhouse occupies the second floor of the Hilton Branson Convention Center Hotel at the corner of East Main and Branson Landing Boulevard, with floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking Lake Taneycomo and the Branson Landing district. The room was redesigned in 2022 — coffered ceilings, custom dark-walnut banquettes, a glass-fronted dry-aging cabinet visible from the entrance — and seats about 110 across the main dining room, an eight-seat chef's counter at the open kitchen, and a private dining room for groups up to twenty-four. The location is two minutes' walk from the convention center main hall, which makes it the de facto closing-dinner address for events at the hotel.

The kitchen is built around a 1,600-degree Montague infrared broiler — the same equipment used by the steakhouses on Manhattan's Upper East Side. The beef programme is centred on certified Hereford from Kansas City, dry-aged for twenty-eight days in-house, with cuts ranging from a 12-ounce filet mignon to a 32-ounce porterhouse for two and a 22-ounce bone-in ribeye that has become the kitchen's signature. The seafood programme is genuinely serious for an inland location — Maine lobster tails are flown in three times weekly, and the chilled-seafood tower (oysters, jumbo prawns, king crab, lobster) is a regular order at four-tops.

The wine list runs about 260 references with strong verticals of Napa Cabernet Sauvignon and Sonoma Pinot Noir, a confident Bordeaux section, and a quietly impressive collection of Walla Walla Syrah. Service is hotel-trained at the senior level — captain pacing, sommelier service tableside, no rushing of the table — and the floor team understands the conference-and-corporate rhythm of three hours for a serious dinner. For a downtown closing dinner with clients staying at the hotel, Level 2 is the unambiguous answer; the hotel-restaurant context also solves the post-dinner logistics cleanly.

Primary Occasion

Why This Is Branson’s Close a Deal Pick

For closing a deal in Branson, Level 2 solves the practical problem first — the restaurant is two minutes from the convention center hall, no transportation needed, no risk of the table being lost to a delayed session — and then delivers on the substantive front: a private dining room for negotiations that need privacy, a bottle list that allows a serious-but-not-extravagant impression, captain service that knows when to fade, and a kitchen that lets the conversation lead. The host who wants to focus on the deal rather than logistics has no better option in town.
