About La Villa Mahana
La Villa Mahana is the chef-driven private-villa dining institution of chef Damien Rinaldi-Dovio. Opened in 2007 in a converted Polynesian-style villa in Vaitape. And is Bora Bora's most intimate fine-dining experience. The restaurant won the 2024 Travelers' Choice Best of the Best for Fine Dining in the South Pacific.
The cuisine is contemporary French-Polynesian. Signatures include a hand-cut Polynesian-tuna tartare with passionfruit; a slow-cooked Polynesian lobster with vanilla-bean butter; a wood-fired Polynesian mahi-mahi with Tahitian-vanilla; a hand-rolled Polynesian-coconut tagliolino; the famous 'crème brûlée à la vanille de Tahiti' for the dessert course.
The wine list runs to 250 references with deep French Champagne and Burgundy coverage.
The villa setting holds only eight tables with thirty-six total covers; the chef walks every table personally before the cheese course. Service is family-run.
Why It's Perfect for Proposal
La Villa Mahana is the proposal-grade table in Bora Bora when total privacy is the brief. The eight-table villa setting means total privacy, the chef-driven Polynesian-French cooking is genuinely distinctive, and the chef's personal table-walks make any moment work.
