About La Brisa

La Brisa is built from the timber of more than 500 retired Balinese fishing boats, salvaged plank by plank and stood back up on the black sand of Echo Beach in Canggu. It opened in 2017 from Gonzalo and Sandra Assiego, the team behind La Favela and La Laguna, under the LYD Bali Group, and it became the sunset anchor of the Canggu coast almost overnight. The look is driftwood and salt air rather than polished marble, and the whole place tilts toward the water as the light goes. For the wider picture, see our Bali dining guide.

The Kitchen

The kitchen runs on wood fire, and the dish everyone orders is the char-grilled octopus, smoky from the grill and dressed simply. Around it sit a grilled whole fish off the day’s catch, ceviche, and a Mediterranean-leaning spread built for sharing across a long table. Expect roughly IDR 150,000 to 300,000 a head for food, with daybeds from IDR 500,000 to 1,000,000 that you spend back on food and drinks across the afternoon. This is beach-club cooking done seriously rather than a fine-dining room, and it is priced for a group to settle in for hours. For the global field, read our guide to the best seafood restaurants worldwide and our ranked list of the best beach club restaurants worldwide. Nearby, compare it with the grill at Mason.

The Room

There is no dining room, only the beach. Reclaimed-wood tables, low sofas and daybeds spread across the sand toward the surf, strung with lanterns that take over once the sun drops. The sound builds through the afternoon from easy to lively as the DJ warms up, the dress code is bare feet, and the light at six is the reason most people are here. With space for several hundred across the sand, it never feels small; the Sunday market packs it tighter still. Come for the golden hour and stay for the dark.

Best for a Team Dinner

Book La Brisa for a team dinner because it does the hard part for you: a long shared table on the sand, a wood-fired spread that lands in waves, and a sunset that gives everyone something to point at. The redeemable daybeds let a group claim a base for the whole afternoon, the bill stays sensible per head, and the easy pace suits people who want to actually talk. Arrive before six for the light, order the octopus and a whole fish for the table, and let the evening run long. See more restaurants for a team dinner.

Not for

Not for a quiet, formal dinner. The room is open-air, the music builds toward sunset, and the crowd is large and barefoot rather than hushed.

Frequently Asked

Is La Brisa Bali worth it?

Yes, for the setting as much as the food. La Brisa is a Canggu beach club built from the timber of more than 500 old fishing boats, with a wood-fired seafood kitchen and one of the best sunset views on Echo Beach. Food runs about IDR 150,000 to 300,000 a head, which is fair for a daybed afternoon, though you come for the atmosphere first and the cooking second.

What should I order at La Brisa?

Start with the char-grilled octopus, the dish the kitchen is known for, then add a grilled whole fish from the day’s catch and a ceviche to share. The menu leans Mediterranean and seafood-heavy and is built for a table to graze across. Pair it with a cocktail and time your order so the mains land around sunset, which is the whole point of the place.

How do I book a daybed at La Brisa?

Reserve through the La Brisa website, especially for weekends and the Sunday market when the beach fills fast. Daybeds run from about IDR 500,000 to 1,000,000 and the spend is redeemable on food and drinks, so it works out as a minimum rather than a cover charge. Aim to arrive before the golden hour to claim your spot before the sunset crowd.

Is La Brisa good for a team dinner?

Yes. The long shared tables, the redeemable daybeds and the wood-fired sharing menu make it easy to settle a group in for the afternoon and evening. The sunset gives the night a centrepiece and the pace stays relaxed enough for conversation. Book ahead and arrive early for the light. See our team-dinner guide for more options.
