About JW Steakhouse

JW Steakhouse is the in-hotel restaurant of the JW Marriott Ankara, a property that has become the default landing pad for international executives, diplomats, and consultants working on long-term projects in the Turkish capital. The restaurant is the top-floor steakhouse — polished wood, leather banquettes, a visible charcoal grill, a wine cellar room — and serves the full American steakhouse canon translated for Turkish beef: tomahawk, porterhouse, rib-eye, New York strip, and the signature JW Tomahawk for two.

The kitchen sources beef from two producers: a dry-aged programme of 45-day Turkish black-Angus cross, and a shorter selection of US-imported prime. The rest of the menu is the expected American-international canon: seafood towers, Caesars prepared tableside, a proper wedge with bacon and blue cheese, and a limited pasta section for the non-beef eater. Sides are priced à la carte — the creamed spinach and the truffle-oil mash are the standards.

Service is the most polished in Ankara. The maître Mehmet Özkan runs a team of a dozen across the dining room and bar. The wine cellar is ambitious for Turkey — roughly 400 labels with strong California and Bordeaux selections — and the bar programme includes a well-stocked whisky list that is unusual in the country. The dining room is sound-dampened to a degree that most Ankara rooms are not, which is part of its appeal for deal-making dinners.

A full dinner with a starter, steak, sides, and a bottle of wine runs ₺2,800–4,200 per person. Tomahawk-for-two is ₺4,500 including sides. The restaurant is the most expensive in the city but delivers the most predictable evening.
