Vista occupies the thirty-first floor of the Esentai Tower — the Ritz-Carlton's Almaty home in the Medeu business district. The dining room faces south across the Tien Shan mountains, and on clear evenings the view is the most dramatic restaurant vista in Central Asia. On the tower's north-west side, the city lights of Almaty extend to the horizon.

The cooking is European-led with a stated steakhouse focus. The dry-aging programme runs Kazakh-raised Angus beef alongside imported Australian and American cuts, hung in a glass-fronted room visible from the dining floor. The sides are conservative-European: potato gratin, seasonal asparagus, charred bone-marrow. The non-steak menu is broader than the room's positioning suggests: a serious seafood carte with Caspian sturgeon and Black Sea turbot, and a small Kazakh-inflected section with a lamb-and-black-lentil pilaf that is among the chef's signatures.

The wine programme is the city's most international — three hundred bottles, weighted toward Bordeaux, Super Tuscans, and the rising Georgian and Armenian reds that Almaty's sommeliers have been championing for five years. A full dinner with a serious bottle will run ₸55,000 per person. The cocktail programme is genuinely good, which is unusual outside the established European capitals.
