About Enhorabona
Enhorabona is the Diana-family-run seafront dining room on the Lungomare Dante. The village's main lungomare promenade running along the western face of the Catalan-Aragonese sea-walls. And is one of the most photographed view-driven dining settings in northwestern Sardinia. The restaurant has run on the same lungomare location for over fifteen years and runs the canonical Alghero sunset-seafood experience.
The menu is recognisably Sardinian seafood. Spaghetti alle vongole with Sardinian-coast clams; a hand-rolled fregola sarda with Sardinian sea-urchin; a wood-fired Mediterranean dentice baked in salt crust; a slow-cooked Mediterranean octopus with green olive and lemon confit; a Sardinian-style 'pasta con bottarga'. Mullet-roe pasta with lemon zest; the famous 'frittura mista del Tirreno'. A mixed-fish fry of the daily Sardinian-coast catch.
The wine list runs to 200 references with a Sardinian core. Cannonau, Vermentino di Gallura, Carignano del Sulcis. And a tightly chosen Italian-national section. Glass pours start at €5.
The terrace is the experience. Twenty tables along the lungomare, a 270-degree view of the western Mediterranean and the Catalan-Aragonese sea-walls, and a south-facing afternoon-sun aspect that is the canonical Alghero lunch setting. The kitchen times the dessert course with the sunset for diners booked on the terrace at the appropriate evening hour.
Why It's Perfect for Birthday
Enhorabona is the birthday-night room in Alghero when the dinner needs to feel like an event. The lungomare seafront terrace is the conversation, the Catalan-Aragonese sea-walls are visible from every seat, and the room's volume on a Saturday night is celebratory. Book the corner two-top closest to the western edge of the terrace at sunset.
