Mahperi Restaurant

Mahperi sits a few doors from Nihat's on the same harbour-front strip and is named for Mahperi Hatun, the Byzantine princess who became one of the thirteenth-century Seljuk sultanas and whose mausoleum sits on the hillside above. Opened in 1947, it is the oldest restaurant in Alanya and still family-run.

The operation is split across a glass-fronted harbour terrace, a long indoor dining room, and a rooftop terrace used in the peak summer months. It seats more than two hundred — the go-to venue in the city for a family celebration, a corporate dinner, or a wedding rehearsal.

The menu is a full Turkish recitation, from the traditional meze board (haydari, muhammara, zeytinyağlı enginar) through charcoal-grilled kebabs, iskender, fish of the day, and the region's classic firin kebab — slow-roasted lamb on flatbread. The house's lahmacun is among the best in the city.

It is remarkable value. Two people with mezze, mains, and drinks typically come in around 2,200–3,000 TRY. In a city increasingly tilted toward hotel and resort dining, Mahperi remains resolutely a neighbourhood institution that happens to sit in the prettiest part of town.

Mahperi is the best team-dinner address in Alanya. The room absorbs a group of ten or fifteen without a flinch, the menu is broad enough that every dietary preference is covered, the service is unfazed by a long evening, and the check-per-head keeps even the most cost-conscious organiser calm. The harbour-front terrace in high summer is as good as Mediterranean group dining gets at this price point.
