Amélie — French Brasserie, Turku
Amélie opened in summer 2025 on the Aura riverbank, bringing a deliberate waft of refined Parisian charm to a dining scene that already has two Michelin stars. The French brasserie format — honest cooking from a classical French kitchen, generous portions, a France-focused wine list, and Parisian neighbourhood service — was what Turku’s riverside needed.
The kitchen covers the French brasserie repertoire with genuine skill: moules marinières, confit de canard, steak with butter sauce, profiteroles — all prepared with the conviction of a team that regards these classics as expressions of technical mastery. Finnish ingredients supplement the French framework where appropriate.
The wine list is a French institution: Loire, Burgundy, and Champagne selections, alongside Alsatian whites that the Finnish seafood can accommodate.
Amélie has established itself rapidly as the riverside address for Turku’s professional community, filling the gap that the two tasting menu rooms had left.
Best Occasion: Birthday
A French brasserie with the Aura River flowing past the windows, a wine list of Gallic depth, and the cooking’s inherent generosity make Amélie excellent for birthdays that want Parisian warmth in a Finnish riverside setting.
Best Occasion: Team Dinner
The French brasserie format — sharing charcuterie boards, moules passed around the table, wine by the carafe — is inherently suited to team dining. Amélie handles groups with ease.
