Archipelagos sits on the caldera cliffs of Fira, in one of Santorini's oldest captain's houses, built in 1860 and restored to its traditional architecture. Its terraces look straight onto the volcano, the Aegean and the island's famous sunset, which makes it one of the most romantic rooms in our Santorini guide. It is a long-standing fixture of the Fira cliffside, still drawing strong reviews into the 2025 and 2026 island guides.

The cooking is Mediterranean Greek, built on good produce and a deep list of Greek wines, with a clear seafood lean. The interior, hung with original art and sculpture, is as considered as the view outside.

The Kitchen

The menu runs Greek and Mediterranean, with the sea doing much of the work: a much-praised lobster ravioli, grilled octopus, tender broiled calamari and mussels in a light butter-and-wine sauce, alongside a Greek-style spaghetti that regulars order again and again. Local produce and a long Greek wine selection back it up. Pricing sits in the upper-mid range for the cliffside, in line with the view and the setting.

The Room

The setting is the headline: cliff-edge terraces for the sunset and a beautifully decorated interior of paintings and sculpture for cooler evenings. Service is attentive and discreet in the way of an upscale room, and the whole place is built for an occasion rather than a quick bite. It also hosts weddings and celebrations on the terrace.
