Eos & Nyx

Named after the Greek goddesses of day (Eós) and night (Nyx), Eos & Nyx opened in late 2024 at 201 S Second Street in downtown San Jose, and immediately became the most talked-about new restaurant in the city. The MO Hospitality Group created a space that is visually extraordinary: towering ceilings, a double-height rotating liquor display, indoor greenery cascading from above, and a warm, immersive atmosphere that feels unlike anything else downtown.

The kitchen cooks casual-elegant Californian cuisine with Mediterranean flavors and modern technique. Mezze-style small plates, grilled seafood, fire-roasted meats — all built from locally sourced, seasonal California produce. The brunch program has become a destination in itself, with a more accessible price point (around $50 per person with drinks) that makes Eos & Nyx a restaurant San Jose returns to frequently rather than saving for special occasions only.

Dinner pushes further into event territory. The $360-for-two dinner experience (with drinks and tip) reflects a kitchen that takes itself seriously and a space designed for exactly this kind of gathering. The cocktail program is exceptional, treating the Mediterranean pantry — herbs, florals, citrus — with the same creative investment as the kitchen. This is not a bar that happens to serve food; the bar and kitchen are equally serious.
