The Restaurant
The Millèn is the fine-dining restaurant of the Rotterdam Marriott on Weena — the elevated avenue that runs through Rotterdam's reconstructed post-war city centre, a three-minute walk from Rotterdam Centraal station. Chef-patron Wim Severein earned the Michelin star in 2018 and has held it continuously. Thirty-two covers in a bright, high-ceilinged room with an open pass.
The cuisine is modern European with strong emphasis on Dutch produce, sustainable sourcing, and technically precise plating. Signature courses include a smoked Dutch pike-perch with gribiche, a Jerusalem artichoke study with hazelnut and truffle, a Dutch lamb preparation with local herbs and aged pecorino. Tasting menus run at five, seven, or nine courses (€115, €165, €195) with generous paired wines.
The wine programme runs close to eight hundred references with particular strengths in Burgundy, Loire, and Rheingau Riesling — the sommelier team is fluent in English, French, German, and Dutch. The Rotterdam Marriott location gives the restaurant a natural business-visitor clientele, and the room is calibrated precisely for an executive dinner: quiet, well-spaced, polished.
Why This Is Rotterdam’s Close a Deal Pick
For a Rotterdam business dinner that combines a proximate hotel (the Marriott for overseas visitors), a Michelin-starred kitchen, and a room that signals precisely the right level without overplaying it, The Millèn is the sharpest choice. The location at Rotterdam Centraal makes onward travel trivial; the quiet high-ceilinged room allows conversation without background interference; the wine programme is deep enough to guide serious choices.
