The Verdict
Trattoria Altrov'é is an Italian restaurant on Calle Hama in El Nido town — one of the oldest continuously-operating independent restaurants in the town's dining map and, within the El Nido expatriate-and-visitor community, the most-frequently-returned-to operation. The restaurant was opened in the early 2010s by an Italian-Filipino couple and has retained the same ownership and kitchen team since.
The menu is classical trattoria — a wood-fired-pizza programme that runs to approximately 20 pizzas anchored by the Margherita and a local-seafood pizza that uses the Bacuit Bay prawns, a pasta programme that is small but technically well-executed (the carbonara and the seafood-linguine are the most-ordered dishes), and a short starter-and-dessert menu that rounds out the full-dinner format. The wine list is European and adequate for the operation's price register.
The dining room occupies a two-storey open-air space with the ground-floor dining room accommodating approximately 40 covers and the upper-floor terrace accommodating another 25. The terrace is the preferred seating for dinner service and has views across the town's low roofs toward the Bacuit Bay. The restaurant does not accept reservations in most of its service hours, which can produce queues during the peak dry-season months; early-dinner arrivals (before 7 pm) are advised.
Trattoria Altrov'é is not the highest-register dinner in Palawan — it is the El Nido independent-town reference, an Italian operation that has outlasted most of its peer independent restaurants in the town and has maintained its kitchen quality across fifteen years. For the team dinner or the large-group casual dinner in El Nido, it is the default.
Why It Works for Team Dinner
Trattoria Altrov'é is the El Nido team-dinner room for a group that wants a reliable Italian operation in a beach-town setting. Wood-fired pizzas that transfer well to sharing formats, a pasta programme deep enough that a table of eight can each order something different, and a casual-but-competent register that the town's independent-restaurant map is otherwise short on.
