About Naro

Naro opened in 2022 below the plaza at Rockefeller Center, the third New York restaurant from the Park family's NA:EUN Hospitality, after the two-Michelin-starred Atomix and the a la carte Atoboy. Chef Junghyun ‘JP’ Park and partner Ellia Park built it around hansik — Korean home and temple cooking — served as a tasting in the main room and a la carte at the bar.

The Kitchen

JP Park's kitchen treats hansik as something to refine rather than reinvent, drawing on the same discipline that earned Atomix its two stars. The Korean fried-chicken sandwich has become the fan-favourite at the bar; in the dining room the menu moves through soy-marinated salmon, a Wagyu beef rice bowl and a run of banchan that changes with the season.

There are two formats: a five-course tasting at $110 and an eight-course tasting at $195 in the main room, with the sandwich and other plates available a la carte at the bar. The address is the rink level of Rockefeller Center, 610 Fifth Avenue, with an elevator entrance on 49th Street. The 50 Best Discovery listing followed soon after opening.

The Room

The dining room sits below street level at Rockefeller Center and is design-forward and calm — muted tones, generous spacing, a low hum rather than a roar. Service is precise and warm, and the room is quiet enough for a working dinner. Dress is smart; the bar up front is the livelier, more casual end.

Best for Impressing Clients

Book this room to impress a client because it gets the fundamentals right: a central, easy-to-reach Rockefeller Center address, a modern-Korean tasting that gives the table a thread of conversation, and a calm room you can actually talk business in. The set format keeps the evening moving. For more, see our New York dining guide and the global best Korean restaurants.

Not for

Not for a quick bite — the main room is a set tasting that runs close to two hours; if you want one plate and a glass, sit at the bar instead.

Frequently Asked

Is Naro worth it?

Yes — Naro is one of the more interesting modern-Korean rooms in New York, from the team behind two-Michelin-starred Atomix. The tasting leans on hansik, Korean home and temple cooking, and the room at Rockefeller Center is polished without being stiff. At $110 for five courses it is a relative bargain for the pedigree; book the bar if you want it a la carte.

How hard is it to book Naro?

Naro takes reservations online and through Resy, and prime weekend seatings in the main dining room go first. Book a couple of weeks out for Friday or Saturday; midweek and the bar are easier. The entrance is at Rockefeller Center, on the rink level, reached by an elevator marked Naro from 49th Street between Fifth and Sixth Avenues.

What is the dress code at Naro?

There is no jacket requirement at Naro, but it is a smart room at Rockefeller Center, so most guests dress up a little — smart-casual is the norm. The setting suits a client dinner or a celebration, and the polished design rewards the effort. Neat denim is fine; gym clothes are not. The mood is refined but not formal.

Is Naro good for impressing clients?

Yes — Naro is built for it. The Rockefeller Center address is easy to reach, the modern-Korean tasting gives the table something to talk about, and the room is calm enough for a real conversation. Choose the eight-course tasting at $195 for a full evening. See our best restaurants to impress clients for more.
