About Slink and Bardot
Slink and Bardot opened in 2017 inside a restored Worli sea-house and quickly became Mumbai's go-to romantic dining room. The interior nods to Saint-Tropez circa 1972 — burnished brass, deep velvet, framed Brigitte Bardot photography — while the kitchen sticks to French Mediterranean classics with a few Indian-coastal twists.
Chef Alex Sanchez, formerly of Le Bernardin and Daniel, runs a tight five-course tasting and an à la carte menu that rotates seasonally. Highlights include a foie gras parfait with toasted brioche, lamb rack with smoked aubergine, line-caught sea bass cooked in salt crust, and a soufflé Grand Marnier that takes thirty minutes to prepare and ten to disappear.
The wine list is the strongest French-focused programme in the city — Champagne by the bottle (no half-bottles, intentionally), serious Burgundy, a section of Provence rosés that any seaside engagement will appreciate. The bar runs a separate cocktail counter with classic and inventive drinks; the Negroni programme is excellent.
Bookings via the restaurant's website or DineOut, two weeks ahead for weekend prime-time. Request a banquette for proposals — staff are trained for the moment and can coordinate flowers, cake, and a quiet spotlight at the right second. Dress smart; the room expects effort.
Best Occasion Fit
If the engagement is meant to feel cinematic, Slink and Bardot delivers — the lighting is filmic, the corner tables seat two privately, and the team has hosted enough proposals that they will time the soufflé to the speech. Few rooms in India do romance with this much craft.
