The Room
Maison Boulud opened in 2012 inside the restored Ritz-Carlton Montreal on Sherbrooke Street. Daniel Boulud's New York group brought the Boulud playbook to Quebec — French-classical technique, hotel-restaurant pacing, polished service — and a decade later the room remains the Golden Square Mile's most reliable hotel-French. The garden terrace, open from May to September, is among the most romantic outdoor dining rooms in Montreal.
The room seats 110 across the main floor and the terrace. Service is brigade-French in rhythm. Cocktails before the meal in the Dom Pérignon Lounge.
The Food
The kitchen runs the four-corners menu format Boulud's group is known for, supplemented by Quebec ingredients (foie gras, lamb, cheese). Signature courses include the duck à l'orange, the Cookstown salad, the Quebec lamb chops with juniper jus, and the seasonal soufflé.
Wine programme is French-anchored with a serious Quebec VQA bench. The pairing menu is the right order for a first visit.
Best Occasion Fit
Close a Deal: Maison Boulud is the Montreal deal dinner for the agreement that needs to register as polished but not theatrical. The Ritz-Carlton address communicates seriously.
Proposal: The garden terrace at sunset, June through September, is the most photographed proposal location on Sherbrooke. Notify the staff at booking.
