About Uchi Miami

Uchi Miami opened on NW 25th Street in Wynwood in 2020 as the first Florida location of chef Tyson Cole's Uchi group — the James-Beard-Outstanding-Restaurant-nominated Austin original has been one of the most consistently-acclaimed modern sushi kitchens in the United States for more than fifteen years.

The menu is the full Uchi programme: the signature Hama Chili yellowtail with ponzu, the Walu Walu wagyu-and-oscietra, the Shag Roll, the Brussels sprouts with smoked citrus, and a sashimi programme built around fish flown in from Toyosu three times per week. Sushi omakase runs around $135; à la carte dinners land $110-180 per person.

The dining room is industrial-chic Wynwood — polished concrete floors, a central sushi bar, mezzanine seating, and a music programme closer to the gallery district than to the Collins Avenue scene. The bar pours a 30-deep sake selection and a compact but serious cocktail list. Service is senior and allergy-aware across the menu.

Best Occasion Fit

Uchi is a first-date restaurant for daters who know what good sushi is. The Wynwood location reads as taste without excess, the menu format rewards shared ordering, and the Hama Chili is a reliable conversational ice-breaker for anyone who has eaten sushi seriously before.
